On November 24, 1971, DB Cooper hijacked a Boeing 727 in the United States, a flight bound from Seattle to Portland. On board, D.B. Cooper told a flight attendant he was armed with a bomb, demanded $200,000 in ransom, & requested four parachutes upon landing in Seattle. Approximately thirty minutes after taking off from Seattle on the next flight, DB Cooper opened the 727 aircraft's aft door, deployed the staircase, & parachuted into the night over southwestern Washington with the loot of money. in the history of commercial aviation, it was the only hijacking that remained unsolved.
