A detailed print of my original painting titled 'He Sits With Me' Last week I asked my followers to share with me what their 'word of the year' for 2023 was. This painting was inspired by two of the words that were shared with me - gentle & compassion. The savior perfectly encompasses both of those words for me. Our gentle, compassionate Savior. My favorite name for the Him is Emmanuel. It means 'God With Us'. As I was thinking about that name & what it means to me, I just felt so grateful for a Savior who is willing to be with me. Willing to sit with me. With us in the pain, in the joy, in the sorrow, in the hope, in the waiting, in the endings, in the change, in the beginnings. in the turmoil I experience, He is the constant that remains with me. I've sat in this position hundreds of times throughout my life. Curled up, rocking myself back & forth, seeking comfort. Even though I can't see Him in those moments, I can feel Him sitting with me. I am so grateful for a Savior who comforts, heals, & saves. I'm also grateful for a Savior who just sits with us. Prints do not have a border - they are printed with a full bleed.
