This bag is made in a traditional Japanese style, sometimes called origami bags, azuma bukuro, triangle bags, or bento bags. I work in this style because it is a low waste pattern, & I can use remnants & scraps to create each bag with minimal waste. It features a strap made to rest comfortably on your shoulder. This bag is reversible, just flip inside out for a whole new look! Bag measures 17x22 when laid flat. Made from fabric purchased at retail. Tailored Cloth focuses on using fabric saved from the landfill (recycled), remnants, scraps, deadstock, or other alternative sustainable sources of beautiful useful fabric. I particularly love using discarded crafts from our mothers, grandmothers & all the strong women who spent hours creating beautiful crafts before us. I source fabric at estate sales, garage sales, thrift store, antique stores, non-profits, or anywhere I can find beautiful fabric that others have chosen to throw out. I get a great sense of purpose in taking these abandoned items & remaking them into beautiful useful crafts. I treat each item with respect, my purpose is to give them new life, not to destroy another woman's work for my benefit. I feel these items are a link to the women who came before us & expressed themselves in their beautiful work.
