If the dogs neck is 13" (including fur), then you will need the 12-16" (Neck Size) collar. Another way to measure is to take the current collar off the pet & lay it down on a table to measure from the base of the buckle to the hole that the prong goes in. This offering is a leather "dog collar blank" which means it comes with two matching belt keepers, pre-punched holes, rounded ends, & pre-skived turn back for an easy fold over a buckle. We also include a pre-punched tab with two holes to secure a d-ring on to the collar which can easily connect to a leash. All you need to do is to add hardware, snaps or rivets, a buckle & a d-ring for easy leash connection when going for walks. If you want to make a leather dog or pet collar & want a head start or just need to replace an old collar with new leather, you are in the right place. This is a pre-dyed, colored buffalo leather strip that is a couple steps closer to becoming an actual finished collar. We did most of the work so you don't have to. To make our dog collar blanks, we punch holes for snaps or rivets on both ends & one longer oblong hole for the belt buckle's prong to come through. We also round off both ends of the strip as well as skive down the thickness of the turn-back to make it an easier fold over a buckle. As you can see from the pictures, on the unfinished side of the leather, we skive (make the leather thinner) from the last hole to the end of the belt, down to about 5-7oz thick. This makes much less bulk to fold over a buckle when you are assembling a finished belt. These dog collar blanks come pre-sized on both ends. This means that all the holes needed for the buckle are already punched. You can select the size of the collar by using our drop down menu.
