For sale is a terrific American art pottery vase a glossy blue cylindrical form with a flared rim, with a stylized flower bulb. This vase appears to be the same as those made by the Zanesville Stoneware Company, sometime in the early 1900s to 1920s. We've seen similar vases online associated with the mold number 576. We don't have the Zanesville Stoneware Company book, & can't find any of the old catalogues online, so cannot be sure. Ohio state has a webpage with the following information: "Citation: James L. Murphy, "Zanesville Stoneware Company Closes After 115 Years," Journal of the American Art Pottery Association 18, no. 6 (2002): 12-16. Description: The Zanesville Stoneware Co., Ohio's longest-lived stoneware pottery closed its doors this spring, after 115 years of continuous operation - 113 of those years by three generations of the Milman Linn family, at two different locations." This vase is in excellent original condition, with no damage, & is nicely molded with beautiful glaze. It's 8.75" tall & 4.75" wide. We're happy to answer any questions or send additional photos!
