I started this piece while participating as a live artist at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival. It was a gorgeous day & I spent it drawing with chalk in the sunshine. "On The Rocks" is the third installment in a series of 4-6 Bourbon cocktail artworks that I have been creating using chalk pastels to compliment the other art I've created. This one was really fun! The longer I drew with chalk, the more I played around with vibrant color, adding more & more layers of color to the wood that the glass sits on & the reflections in the glass itself. I love this one so much that I think I will keep the original to myself. Prints of this artwork are sold on archival quality, heavy-weight paper & printed using archival inks. When displayed away from direct sunlight, prints will resist fading for up to 200 years. I am extremely meticulous about the color quality of each print & check to make sure that the colors are an exact match to the original art. All prints sold are standard sizes & will have a 1/4" white border around the edges so the print can be custom framed without cropping out any of the art. If you choose to put your print in a premade frame (and do not purchase a matted option), you may need to trim off a small amount of the border. This can easily be done with scissors. Matted prints should fit perfectly in all premade frames. Matted prints are attached to a WHITE mat on 2-4 sides with wall safe tape. A white backing board is added for stability during shipping. The print & backing board are protected in a crystal clear sleeve. Matted prints are shipped in a StayFlat mailer with cardboard inside to help prevent bending during shipping. All other prints will be carefully rolled in bubble wrap & shipped in a 2"-3" mailing tube. This print pairs well with any other bourbon art on the shop page. I use a similar color palette each time so that all prints can be mixed & matched. If you need recommendations, please reach out!
