This is a gorgeous 40s lilac crepe silk gown. The gown has a deep scoop neckline & long sleeves with the cuffs fastening at the wrist with snaps. The bodice is heavily beaded in silver seed beads & pearl beads. The skirt starts at the waistline & in the front is plain falling to the floor in an A-line silhouette. At the center back of the skirt there is a densely smocked pear-shaped detail that gives volume to the wonderful train. The train is very full & lays behind the gown in a circular shape & is medium in length. The gown is a pullover the head with a metal side zip. Condition: The gown is in fantastic condition with one thing to note. There would have been a matching belt but that has unfortunately been lost to time. The gown has been professionally hand laundered & is ready to wear.
