Description

This set of 4 Ruby red glasses from the Fostoria Glass Company in the "Argus" pattern about 6 3/8 inches tall. Three of the glasses have HFM for Henry Ford Museum on the side. 1 does not have any markings & is a very slightly deeper red hue. One glass is slightly shorter than the other three - about 1/8 an inch - this IS one of the three marked HFM. These glasses are in excellent, gently used condition. Please see pictures. The only flaw I can find is on one glass there is a teeny tiny spot on the inside of the glass just below the rim. It could be a tiny chip but I think this was potentially an air bubble from manufacturing that ended too close to the surface. This is very small & the glass is still lovely & totally useable. I have included pictures of this. History: Fostoria Glass made Argus from 1963 until 1982, during a period when Colonial styles were popular. Argus was a reproduction of an early American pressed glass pattern commissioned by the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan. Most pieces are marked HFM. Fostoria used wonderful colors for Argus, deep blue, rich ruby red, this olive toned green, charcoal gray & clear. 4 Vintage Ruby Red Fostoria Argus Glasses Commissioned By The Henry Ford Museum Hfm
