This is an absolutely gorgeous oil on board icon painting of St. George & the Dragon. The painting is most likely from the 19th century, & a note on the back indicates it may have been sold or appeared at a sale in 1920. The painting is on an old board that measures .75" in thickness, so this beautiful piece will fit securely on your wall. The language at the top is Greek is has the name George, as well as the the word Greatmartyr. The board measures 11.75"x8.75".
