Description

As I transition the remaining few oils we carry from brokers to a full line of artisan produced essential oils, I realize with the replacing of broker Elemi to artisan produced Elemi that I am in constant upgrade-itus mode & if there's a better version of an oil, I'll find a way to bring it to our shop. Artisan distillations hold those biodynamic intangibles that don't translate in large scale produced, broker held oils. It's a point that hits home every time I do my own distillations. I find the typical pepper forward scent profile found in typical elemi is much less forward here. It's more rounded out & deeply elegant. I see it being quite indispensable in a natural perfume composition. Elemi trees are one of those beautiful renewables in that an incision on the tree will produce resin most of the year. Perhaps this generosity is why it is considered magical & religious within the filipino culture. I've really loved working with this oil, adding to my serums to see its effects on my red cranky winter skin along with all of the other properties that come from the burseraceae family which includes frankincense & myrrh. This oleoresin is such a well done distillation. It smells like an exquisite frankincense oil & leaves me wondering why Elemi isn't utilized more because I see its future as being a highly sustainable frankincense alternative. Suggested uses: Can be added to lotions or skin serums to rejuvenate skin. May accelerate scar healing when added to a formula that also contains Helichrysum essential oil. Excellent addition to essential oil diffusers to facilitate easier breathing.
