Bueche Girod Travel Alarm Clock, Bueche Girod Miniature Clock, Gold Bueche Girod Clock, Swiss Made Miniature Clock, Blue Enamel Travel Clock This listing is for a fabulous little late 20th century miniature travel alarm clock. This small gold-plated & blue enamel mechanical wind-up clock was made by the Swiss watch & clock maker, Bueche-Girod. I believe this timepiece was most likely made in the late 1980's. The face of the clock is black enamel with gold rectangles for numerals & is topped with convex mineral glass. It has 4 gold hands. The square-shaped frame case is bright navy-blue enamel & the back is gold-plated. The clock has a Swiss movement with 17 jewels (see last photo of the movement). The clock has two crowns on the back, one marked "M" for the movement & one marked "S" for the alarm. The face of the clock measures approximately 1-1/8 inches in diameter & the body measures 1-5/8 inches square. The clock appears to be is in good used vintage condition consistent with age & use. The glass has a few very light scratches & there is some gold that has rubbed off of the back of the case & there are some scratches where the back is removed. The clock does work but I did not wind it fully for fear of over winding it. I was able to make the alarm go off. I would suggest taking it to a jeweler to be cleaned & fully serviced. This is a nice little clock that would look lovely in a bedroom or as an accent piece in your living room. Vital Bueche founded Bueche Girod in 1947, combining his last name with his wife's maiden name, Girod. The Company was famous for producing extravagant, solid gold watches & watches with precious stones for brands like Universal Geneve, Cartier, Bulova, etc. The Company always used the very finest Swiss made movements. The brand became very popular in US at the end of the 1970's, particularly in Las Vegas, Los Angeles & Miami Beach & was seen in "Miami Vice", "Scarface", & other movies of that era. Bueche Girod continued to release its own watches, often ladies' watches with elaborate or jewelry-like designs, but in general, production was relatively scarce. The company closed in the early 2000's, but now its watches have become collectors' items. Shipping will be via USPS Ground Advantage Mail which includes Tracking & Insurance.
