Description

William Kerr Co began creating sterling silver pieces in 1855 in Newark NJ. This dance card/notepad dates to the 1880's (there is a clear hallmark on the back side -medieval ax with three x's. There are hand engraved numbers -1477A & a stamped 5. The pad is sterling silver & measures just shy of 3" in length & 2" wide. It is a beautiful example of repousse. It has a hinge with a large bale. There are six celluloid pages. I lightly polished but kept the patina. It hangs from a Victorian bookchain that features links with cut out stars, triangles. The clasp is a large spring ring measuring 15 mm. So easy to use the chain on multiple pendants. Length of chain is about 16". It is in very good condition-no dents just typical surface wear. Layaway is available. Sterling Silver William B. Kerr Dance Card Pad On Antique Star Motif Chain
