Description

Rice bag: This bag is created by quilting my purple, yellow & blue fabrics together in a quilt that is called "Court House Steps". I then over-stitched with a running stitch all over the bag. The inside is lined with mustard yellow linen, & the ties are purple cord. A rice bag is by definition, is a scrap fabric creation. Piecing whatever fabric was left over in the house to make a bag to carry offerings of rice to the temple. This is a modern type of Komebukuro, a traditional bag to hold gifts. I have used my fun fabrics & quilting stitching & trims to create these rice bags & every bag/pouch is different, OOAK. (one of a kind). There is quilting stitches that create a sturdy feel to the bag. This pouch stands up by itself in the pictures. This is a 6" square draw string pouch; suitable for many usesproject bag, organizer container, travel cosmetic case, catch-all, purse or pouch. Made of cotton, some linen, trim, over stitched & some hand embroidery, super fun colors & designs. I used iron-on batting, 2 thicknesses, & drawstring pulls. Each individual bag is different, see others in this shop. The bottom of the bag is some leftover leather I had. The linings are coordinated to the outside. My rice bag pouch is a pattern made by KZ Stevens & her pattern is available in ETSY. This is a one of a kind & will never be reproduced exactly the same.
