Here is a lovely porcelain piece that I believe was from the 1980's. It is from Villeroy & Boch, made in the Phillipines. The piece is labeled Balthasar, for King Balthasar who was one of the 3 Wisemen to see the baby Jesus. It is a candle holder, where you can put a tea light or votive in his "belly" & it also would hold a tapered candlestick in his crown. I've put a battery operated tea light in just for pictures & you can see that works fine, too. He is in excellent vintage condition. I don't think he's ever actually seen a wax candle. It is two pieces, where the cage sits atop the green disc base. The base is 2.5" across the top & 3.25" across the bottom. The piece is over 6" altogether & the crown opening is 1 1/8".
