Description
This is a classic, circa 1904, Waltham 18s Model 1883, Railroad style pocket watch that keeps very good time. The 17 jewel, Grade No. 825, damascened movement & is set in a smooth, polished back, American Watch Case Company, 'Silveroid' (trade name for nickel), screw-back case. Nickel was a relatively new material in the early 1900's. As shiny as silver, but much harder & more resistant to scratching. This particular case has been buffed to a nice shine & has the added feature of a coin rim. The single-sunk enamel dial is bright white & contrasts nicely with the blued steel 'Fine Spade' hands. It features slender Roman Numerals & the Canadian Railroad 24 hour Arabic numerals under each Roman Numeral, & the Waltham Signature. The crystal & dial are in excellent condition & blemish free. It sets & runs very well & is ready to carry & enjoy, or as a special gift. It is in very good condition with some light scratches, imperfections, & a very small dent in the coin rim at two o'clock. This is normal wear consistent with a relied upon timepiece 118 year old! Please look at all pictures as they are most of the description. This watch is running very well, but due to its age may not keep exact time. As with all vintage watches, it is being sold as-is. However, if you have a problem in the first 2 weeks after receiving your watch, send it back to me & I will have it repaired. So, buy with confidence!
