Matte charms have the backside artwork printed on the top of the acrylic, whereas epoxy dome charms have the backside artwork protected through a layer of acrylic. Matte charms are more prone to scratches, peeling, & chips on the artwork since the backside image is exposed, whereas the art is protected within the resin dome finish on both sides.
