PLEASE READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION. THIS IS OLD & SOLD AS IS. This is a print of a silhouette by sought after American silhouette artist John Bennett, who lived from 1840-1907. While this is NOT in great condition, it is still attractive & would be a nice decorative piece. The subject is what I loved: A court jester sitting in a meadow or garden, seemingly chatting with a large bird that is pretty obviously a raven (crow). It's whimsical & fun & an inexpensive version of Bennett's works. His original silhouettes are rare & valuable & mainly found in museums. This is a decorative low cost print to capture the whimsical nature of Bennett's silhouettes to get the look without the high cost. in fair preowned antique condition, the print is old & shows some staining towards the top & light tearing to the edges. This is NOT a high end piece. It is framed in an inexpensive black frame, & it is being sold as an authentic antique print to capture a fabulous whimsical look. This is sold AS IS due to the light stains & wear to the print. the next owner may choose to re-frame this piece, & a fresh mat would cover the flaws.
