This is a rare, vintage early 1960s, mens, green-plaid, flannel shirt made by "Island in The Sun Jamaica". The label indicates it is a size medium with a neck measurement of 15-15.5 inches & I have measured the chest as 44 inches. Before I go any further let me just say this is a WELL-WORN shirt. The rich/dark plaid is the fabulous aspect of this shirt featuring predominantly shades of olive-green with black, white & orange running through 4 inch diameter squares. The flannel content is 100% cotton. The shirt features a button-front closure with white moon-glow buttons, notched collar with button/loop, 2 chest pockets (unusual) stitched on the diagonal, double-fabric back-yoke, long sleeves with button-cuffs & a rounded shirt-tail hemline. As I said, well loved & very well-worn. The edges of the sleeve-cuffs are ragged as well as the inside of the collar & collar tips. I guess that is the worst of it as the stitching all seems fine, but their might be something minor I missed. in any event a very, unique & wonderful, flannel-plaid shirt that could be worn by a man or woman. Do I dare say that I wore this mens, shabby-chic beauty for many years mixed with green, camouflage-print pants & I am a woman. Don't worry, more life in store for this baby yet despite its flaws.
