This is a wood block of a daisy design created from 16th Century Ottoman style motifs found on clothing. The ratio is 4:5. Please include direction you wish the block to face. Materials for block printing: Ink or paint (see below) Cheap art felt (4-6 layers) Rubber brayer Non-porous surface for applying paint to brayer (glass, marble, stone, mirror, or a piece of aluminum foil taped to a hard surface) To clean blocks:Use the sink sprayer in your kitchen to gently extract paint from the crevices of your block, or lightly rub away paint bits with your fingertips. Set to dry in a war, dry place. For linen, cotton or rayon, silk screen ink (Speedball, Jacquard) is preferred. Some artisans use house paint.
