These are two very unique wallets made using ART Shell Cordovan, the finest vegetable tanned leather, & other vegetable tanned leathers from Italy for coordinating interior elements. Each Art Shell is unique due to the hand dyeing process, & no two pieces cut from any shell can be the same. Each is a different style, the "Quick Draw" (QD-5) with a slide out card slot on the left over another pocket for cards or folded cash, & card slots on the right. The other is "Wayfarer Wallet" (WF-10), as suits fast & uncomplicated needs for a quick exit from any situation... This folds, but doesn't have a billfold per se, but paper currency or receipts can fit on either side between the liner & outer leather, & two distinct slots for cards. The Quick Draw when flat measures 7" (17.8cm) wide & 4 1/8" (16.2cm) tall, & about 3/4" (1.9cm) folded shut. The Wayfarer Wallet open is 6 3/8" (16.2cm) wide & 4 1/8" (16.2cm) tall, & about 1/2" (1.2cm) folded shut. The wallets do not yet closed together closely since the Shell Cordovan is a bit firmer than other leathers used for some of my other listed wallets, but it will ease with use & handling. The finish is highly burnished & polished from the tannery, over top the hand dyed shell, & can be kept looking its best with light buffing with soft cloth & polish, as suits any high quality shoe. I hand cut & trim all the pieces, & the stitching is with coordinating color of bonded nylon thread on my industrial machine. & all the edges are sanded smooth & hand burnished to a semi-gloss or glossy sheen. Among the cowhide & bison, I also use Shell Cordovan & other horse leatherwhich is stronger & smoother than cowhide, & is utilizing a resource more commonly used in Europe & other parts of the world rather than adding to the waste stream. I have been acquiring new leathers, & will be listing other new colors. There are many other makers of wallets in fine leathers in the more typical shades of brown & black, but I am staying with my aesthetic, in which I enjoy color & pattern, & not just doing a "me too" product. My color choices & combinations are inspired by nature, as well as local sports teams. The two variations both have Art Shell Cordovan exterior, & underside of the shell & part of the tannery stamp shows in the interior, as well. The interiors are all vegetable tanned cowhide from Italy, unless otherwise noted: QD-5: Blue & brown (from US tannery, Wickett & Craig), edges dyed green & then clear burnished. The line of stitching that shows on one exterior sides creates the bottom of the inner most card slot. WF-10: Natural horse rear & dark brown & green, edges left natural with clear burnished The Horse Rear (butt) is actually outside the "Shell" region, but is still high quality & denser, stronger & smoother than cowhide.
