This is a vintage cuff bracelet by the well known jewelry designer Carolyn Pollack. Carolyn's collections are considered everyday wearable fine jewelry. She is known for her unique interpretation of southwestern style & exceptional construction. Her designs are characterized by polished, rhodium plated sterling silver which can incorporate an array of exquisite gemstones. Quality, Carolyn's pieces command extraordinarily high prices. This bracelet is no exception. The turquoise in this magnificent cuff is considered the finest ever to be produced in the United States. It is the perfect robins egg blue & was collected from the Sleeping Beauty Mine, in Castle Dome, AZ. Sleeping Beauty turquoise is known for its total lack of inclusions. It is prized by jewelers worldwide, and, like Carolyn's designs, is quite expensive. This is due to the fact that the Sleeping Beauty Mine closed in August of 2012 causing the material to be quite difficult to acquire. The turquoise is topped with an exquisite bezel set amethyst drawing the eye to the richness of the design. Framing the turquoise is Carolyn's signature work, a highly detailed southwestern style concha. The concha has been placed on a cuff which repeats this detail. The detail is composed of stylized stamp work which traditionally has symbolized sunrise.
