Description
Satsuma Moriage Japanese pottery vase. Decorated with the Moriage technique of layering clay creating raised decorations. The faces of the immortals are beautifully painted. Applied handles on each side & a fluted opening. The colors are muted deep cinnabar reds, cobalt blue, white highlights, ochre with touches of black & turquoise. Signed on the bottom. The only issue I could find is a tiny chip on the inside rim, just by feeling the rim, & a chip in the glaze at the bottom. I believe that was made during the making.
