Description
This is a lovely vintage Asian hand embroidered woven needlework on fabric Vietnamese Fishing boat scene framed artwork. The fiber art is finished in shimmery threads in shades of gold, green, brown, black & white & portrays a Vietnamese fisherman wearing a conical hat fishing from a traditional Vietnamese boat with a large woven net attached to the top. The needlework is not signed by the artist, but does have the year 1923 written on the back of the frame along with an illegible month & date. The artwork measures approximately 6 5/8" X 5 1/8" & comes ready to hang behind glass in a matted red colored wood or wood-like frame that measures 10 1/2" X 9". The embroidery is in good vintage condition with surface wear including frayed ends & a loose thread (please see picture #5), & the frame shows heavy wear including scratches, scuffs, nicks, chips & paint loss, with holes & black marks on the cardboard backing.
