The plants' vigorous, upright canes don't need anchoring, & they can withstand freezing temperatures. Harvest time is July. Self-pollinating. GROWING INSTRUCTIONS Option 1 (Direct sowing): 1. Soak seeds in 170o water for 10 minutes (helps break down the natural protective barrier). 2. Allow water too cool & continue to soak seeds for 24 hours (soak increases water levels inside seed & triggers them that it's safe to grow). 3. Direct sow seeds in fall allowing seeds to go through a cold cycle over winter to break the seed dormancy & germinate in spring. Seed depth: 1/4" Seeds per plant: 3-4 Plant spacing: 10' Full sun Keep moist, but not saturated. Option 2 (Stratification technique for starting indoors & other times of year): 1. Soak seeds in 170o water for 10 minutes (helps break down the natural protective barrier). 2. Allow water too cool & continue to soak seeds for 24 hours (soak increases water levels inside seed & triggers them that it's safe to grow). 3. Warm stratification 60 days (not required, but increases germination rates). 4. Cold stratification 60 days (required to break seed dormancy). 5. Seed dormancy should be broken, so sow seeds as directed for direct sowing. Follow Option 1 instructions.
