About this Icon: Jesus initially called a disciple by the name of Andrew. Throughout his travels, he spread the gospel of Christ & miraculously cured several sick individuals. Achaia was his final stop, & there he was crucified. It is important to note that the Apostle Andrew is revered as the founder of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. The city of Patra, where the apostle Andrew's skull is stored, honors him as its patron saint. The 30th of November is the day of his feast.
