A rare & fine example of pre-revolutionary silverwork by This type of silver & enamel items were enormously popular after the war of 1850-1860 between Russia & Turkey as at that time, Turkish & Persian designs became fashionable & in high demand by wealthy Russians & Europeans. The enamel is bright & beautiful, the craftsmanship is superb, & the condition is very good, but some wear must be expected as this item is almost 150 years old. This is a highly collectible item.
