Sir James label was carried by Bonwit Teller, & his lines were mostly shirtwaist dresses, skirts, & skirt sets, sometimes utilizing novelty painting & prints. This skirt set features a full, just about circle skirt, & a tailored matching blouse with faceted glass buttons, a velvet peter pan collar, & velvet cuffs (with button) on 3/4 length sleeves. Fabric appears to be a cotton weave but may be a rayon or blend. Feels/looks like a fine, medium weight cotton.b The skirt buttons on the side & has two on seam side pockets. The blouse buttons up the front with a loop/button closure under the collar & an inside button near the hem of the blouse to keep it closed & smooth while tucked into the skirt waist. There are thread loops on the sides of the skirt waistband but there is no belt. The loops can be removed and/or a belt added. No issues. Wonderful condition. Measurements are taken outside of the garment while flat. Across the front of the bust while flat, 19 inches. Shoulder seam to shoulder seam 15 inches. Across the front of the waist while flat, & buttoned, 13.5 inches (27 waist, though if the button is moved, it could be altered to a 28). Hips Open. Skirt length, 29 inches.
