This sterling demitasse spoon was made by Watson. The finial at the top of the spoon features a bust of Anton Rubinstein, a music clef & 3/4 time symbol. Would make a really special gift for a piano player, musician, music tutor, school teacher, music student or lover of composers. Also a nice gift for someone who is a collector of Russian memorabilia. Rubinstein was a Russian pianist, composer & conductor who became a pivotal figure in Russian culture when he founded the Saint Petersburg Conservatory. He wrote 20 operas, the best known of which is The Demon. He was the elder brother of Nikolai Rubinstein, who founded the Moscow Conservatory. Beautiful flower detail running along the back of the spoon handle. Rear of handle is stamped 'STERLING' & bears the makers hallmarks belonging to Watson. Spoon bowl has a nice gold gilt finish. Spoon is in good vintage condition, as seen in the photos. Measures 4 1/4" in length. Please refer to each photo. They are there to accurately & honestly represent the item's description & condition.
