Description

A circa 1770 globular Worcester clobbered teapot that was originally made in the Mansfield blue & white pattern, then later overlaid - clobbered - with an iron & gilt decoration that is under the glaze. The decoration is superb with floral decoration, a center piece of peonies on both sides, & a floret top that is beautifully intact. Worcester was one of the earliest ceramics factories in England. The bottom is marked with Worcester's cresent mark. The teapot is in excellent shape with only a small chip & a flea bit on the spout. Pretty good for a 250 year old antique. Please review the photos carefully as they are an important & integral part of the description. The teapot is approximately 5 3/4" tall & 7 1/2 inches across from handle to end of spout. Shipping is free & my shipments are insured for full value. Don't hesitate to ask questions about this lovely piece.
