A GREAT four piece knit set from one of my favourite designers Bill Gibb. Made from majority acrylic & metallic yarns this is great for people who feel itchy wearing pure wool (me!). The set consists of a skirt, camisole style top, cardigan & scarf, the cardigan being in a contrasting but complimentary pattern & yarn with same colour & yarn type bands to the wrists & hem. The cardigan is almost peplum style, being pulled in at the waist, & it has puffed & padded shoulders & a high neck. From the Bill Gibb for homes & gardens range. I've seen this labelled as 1977, 1970s & 70s/80s, but the Aberdeen Museum have a huge Gibb Collection in their archives & have precisely dated the set as 1981. Without the cardigan I think I'd have been sucked into the 1970s dating, but the cardigan is definitely more early 80s that 70s in design so I'll trust the archive on this one (see image of original bill gibb sketch, & they also hold on of them sets on the archive). The set is in excellent condition with minor signs of wear. There was a pull on the hemline of the skirt which I stitched through to the inside. Marked a 10-12, & definitely more like an 8-10 today.
