Rare & beautiful ABP brilliant cut glass ice cream tray by Unger Bros. This tray in their Hobart pattern is shown on page 83 of J. Michael Pearson's " Encyclopedia of American Cut & Engraved Glass" & is misidentified as Hawkes. The pattern features a chain of hobstars around the rim with alternating regular hobstars & ones cut with a octagonal hob in the center. Notched mitres from the center of the tray radiate out toward the hobstar chain. Below each hobstar is a column of silver cut diamond & a flat star. The ice cream tray measures 3" high, 14 1/2" long, 9" wide & weighs 5 3/4 pounds. Overall the tray is in very good condition. There are a couple chipped teeth, some flea bites & some light wear to the inside of the tray. See Photos This exceptional Unger Bros.
