SALE! 25% OFF! Antique Victorian Era Autograph Book. It belonged to Alice Stevens of unknown location, but most likely the mIdwest. The cover is a worn red velvet or plush. It has a silver tone metal applique that says "Album" in cursive. The front page is magnificent with a color print of flowers. The earliest entry is dated March 30 1890. Alice's mother wrote an entry on November 2, 1898. Most of the entries are from 1886. The poems are written in ink which has faded. There are 21 autographs & many pages that are unused. A typical entry reads: "May your future life be happy. . .May your friends prove ever true. . .Alice, keep me in remembrance. . .I shall often think of you" The edge of the pages are gilded. Alice, your album was treasured for over a centuryyou remain in remembrance Size: 8 x 51/4 x 3/4 Condition: very good considering this is 132 years old. Note the velvet on the front cover is worn. The pages are intact & remain attached to the spine. The pages are somewhat yellowed, at least not bright white. As noted above, the ink is faded.
