The Hall China Company was started by Robert Hall in 1903 in East Liverpool, Ohio however a year later he died & management of the business was assumed by his son also named Robert. The company produced mugs, jugs, & bedpans then in 1911, developed a single fire formula that made their wares nonporous, strong & craze proof. in 1919, Hall China purchased the Goodwin Pottery Company plant & began making teapots and, in 1927, an additional plant was acquired which produced different wares. Construction of a new facility to replace all three locations was completed in 1930 & Hall China's product line expanded to include cooking china, teapots, tableware, & coffee makers. The company is still in business today. This Hall's Superior Quality Kitchenware "Rose White #658" Casserole with Lid, first produced in 1945 & since discontinued, is confirmed by the gold "Hall's Superior Quality Kitchenware" back stamp on the base (see photo). The casserole measures 5.0" tall with the lid & 4.0" tall without the lid; 9.75" wide from the end of one handle to the end of the other; & has a 7.0" diameter opening & 6.75" diameter base. This beautiful "Rose White" casserole dish is in good vintage condition with minor wear primarily to the interior & base perimeter due to use. This Hall's Superior Quality Kitchenware "Rose White #658" Casserole with Lid would make a wonderful addition to any collection of mid-century ceramics or serve as a great soup or casserole serving dish! The casserole with lid will be bubble wrapped & packed securely in a one cardboard box then packed in a second box & shipped USPS Priority Mail which includes tracking & insurance.
