Up for consideration is a fine Nursery Rhyme Illustration by listed Detroit Artist Joseph L. Kraemer (1872-1938). The piece measures 19 inches by 27 inches in height. Which is quite a large size. The illustration depicts the artists rendition of Tommy Snooks & Bessy Brooks...the exact Book is unknown. It really is well done & I would say it is absolutely charming. The hands are spot on... It dates from about the early 20's. I have 3 illustrations from the same book. Most have light pencil instructions denoting coloration & future additions or adaptations. So please take a look at all 3 they are great.. I have uncovered over 20 Kraemer illustrations in a portfolio from an old collectors estate recently so please keep an eye on my listing as you may be pleasantly surprised at the quality of work & talent of J.L. Kraemer that has been hidden away for decades. Mind you he has a rather soft auction history however the pieces that have been offered thus far have been rather soft. If you know art you know there is a strong market for Child figure-genre paintings, magazine & book illustrations. Take a look at Kate Greenway or Jessie Wilcox Smith.
