This is a beautiful Uzbek silk ikat panel in palmette designs on a dark ground mounted on linen. It is in an adras silk ikat meaning it is warp faced with cotton wefts to provide weight & body. These used to be made & used in Uzbek homes to decorate the wall or bed or for coats called chapans. The design is archaic & exquisitely fine.
