This is a vintage antique exquisite cotton batiste Ladies' lace embellished tea dress circa 1930 with many hand-done details, machine lacework, & pin tucks. It has an opening at the waist & hidden down the side 9" to enable the wearer to pull over the head. The back is plain with no opening. The sleeves come to the elbow with lavish4.5" lace edging. There is a row of 10 tiny handmade buttons down the front of the bodice & lavish lace trim from the shoulder to the waist The condition is good overall. The lawn cotton is strong with just a couple of tiny holes & one exquisite darn in the back . The issues are all with the lace, the worst sign of wear & tear is in the side top front where the lace has come undone from the body of the dress in one area about 2" wide & the lace is weak there ( see photo ). Could be repaired. there are a couple of other tiny areas in similar condition, the sleeves seem good & strong. The waist closure is missing & I think a simple fix with press studs replaced The size is ample & loose fitting. Waist measures approx 34" & bust approx up to 38" . total length 52" from the back neckline. Meant to be loose, not fitted The sleeves are 11" long from the underarm & the opening is 6" + diam Please don't purchase if you are expecting perfect condition.
