These tees were sold during the 1988 presidential election & many wore them because they thought the idea of Richard Nixon going for a third term was funny. However, some wore them because they genuinely wanted to see Nixon resume the position of President. It became a nationally shared joke & the Late Night Show with David Letterman even did a bit where the joke was that nobody else was available to run for president expect for Nixon.
