This listing is for a lovely little Chlorastrolite stone, known as Isle Royale Greenstone, Michigan's highly sought after state gem. Chlorastrolite is the the scientific name for these bluish green stones, however they are commonly known as "Isle Royale Greenstone" as that is the island where they were first discovered. The location is now highly protected & no Greenstones are allowed to be removed from there. All of our Greenstones are ethically & legally obtained from inland sources. The cabochon above features lovely patterning, & is what we refer to as a "Dark Beauty" which is a term we coined to describe the light & dark variations in a Greenstone's complexion. This fun stone also has 'dancing' radials, some Greenstones have patterning that appears to dance or wave when you shift it in the light, creating a wonderful effect. The total weight is just under 1g. Our Greenstones are sourced from the Keweenaw Peninsula of Michigan. We hand cut & polished this lovely stone into a cabochon ready for jewelry, but please note that we didn't cut a girdle on the bottom of the stone.
