Description

Raku Vessel. Attributing to Norman Bacon. Vintage small Norman Bacon Raku Vessel. Measures 4 1/2" tall & close to 3" widest diameter. Weight is nice at little over 1/4 pound. This vessel is small & signed on bottom. Looks like it reads Bacon. Came with other pieces signed Bacon. So guessing Norman Bacon cause it does look like his cool work. From what I read he is from Woodstock which is local where pottery was purchased. Found some fun reading on Norman Bacon at bottom of page. Has its light scuffs & scratches & still looks great! Please check pictures for description & condition. Guessing made before 2000. Cool Old Small Raku Vessel Shipping prices for lower 48 states. Have other Raku listed separately. (After a thirty-year career starting in 1970, his life took a radical change moving on to other creative adventures. His art is a mixture of spontaneity & control, perfection & imperfection. Each piece he created is a unique, artistic expression, bringing clay, fire, water, & air together. Norman started his career in ceramics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in the late sixties. His work with the raku process began in 1979. The Raku process consists of rapid firing & cooling, which transform clay objects into natural works of art. The resulting piece has colors & textures that cannot be duplicated.) Norman Bacon Raku Vessel, Vintage Vase
