Tuscany never ceases to amaze. Recently, it is redefining the timeline of art history with the discovery of bronze statues dating to the Etruscan period. This little character was born of imagination at a much later time, well into the 19th century on the pages of a classic Tuscan childrenʻs novel. Pinocchio as pictured here, is a 4 string marionette about 15" in height. Including the handgrip, he measures approximately 29 inches. Uniquely constructed, his head slides up or down the rod connecting him to the handgrip, unique in of itself. Extremities are simple wood block shapes, while his head is cast in some resin or ceramic type. There is minor paint wear on the grip. Charming to say the least & for the marionette connoiseur.
