A well formed piece of mammillary / botryoidal haematite of the variety known as kidney ore. Most kidney ore is in turn composed of pencil ore - which is the name generally used for the fragments of ore that show the tapering & radiating elongated crystals of Haematite. The kidney Ore has a botryoidal surface to it with the pencils only being visible in cross section. This specimen shows the radiating structure very nicely. It is also in its natural state rather than buffed with boot polish as many are. It measures 65x65x55mm & weighs 276.4g It is from the Florence Mine in Egremont, Cumbria, UK. The well known & historic Florence iron ore Mine produced many exceptional Haematite specimens which can be seen in collections all over the world. It is now closed & flooded. ORDERING INFORMATION: Shipping: All orders are posted by the equivalent of Priority Mail with a tracking number & are dispatched in 3 working days or less. Most orders ship with Slovenija Post although some heavier items can ship with a courier. Delivery Times: Standard Postage within the EU should take 3-7 days & to the UK around 7 days. Standard Postage to the USA & the rest of the world generally takes around 10 days. Delivery times are APPROxIMATE & outside of our control. in particular customs delays are possible. The tracking will show data from Slovenija Post & then the postal carrier in your country but not in between the two. Therefore, it does not show whilst the package is being processed by customs, only once it is released to your national carrier. Packaging: We have safely shipped over 35,000 orders worldwide over the years with virtually no damage. Whilst we will recycle packaging materials where possible, the key priority is protection, & we pride ourselves on doing that extremely well. Returns: Within the EU returns can be made within 14 days for any reason. Once the goods have been safely received by us, we will issue a full refund.
