Description

We do not clean our items - this has little patina & would polish up brighter silver I believe this is the Norse version of the Incan Sun God (the creator) who's face is famously seen on the mainsail of the Norwegian Kon-Tiki raft. Just about 15/16" (2.4 cm) long overall by about 1/2" (1.3 cm) wide by about 1/8" (2.75 mm) thick. Hallmarked 'EIK SOLV 830 S', which is a makers mark I'm not familiar with other than I can confirm it is from Norway. Weight - 3.7 g / .13 oz. The Kon-Tiki expedition in 1947 was a significant journey by raft across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian islands, led by Norwegian explorer Thor Heyerdahl. It had a six-man crew, five were Norwegian & one was Swedish. Heyerdahl's intention was to prove that people from South America could have reached Polynesia during pre-Columbian times using only the materials & technologies available at the time. It was a huge success & now the original Kon-Tiki raft is on display in the Kon-Tiki Museum in Oslo Norway.
