Hey look ,a new design pressed from a drawing that I used in the past for my letterpress prints. There is only one of these so far . This is a Geiger/alien inspired scifi kinda thing. All hand stained,glazed, with a hand cut border. This is ready to hang . This piece has a lovely combination of a copper patina glaze, dusty blu glaze & a steel black interactive pigment which gives definition to the raised drawings elements. Each tile is handmade here at Stardust Clay works. First a piece of clay is rolled out into a slab from which I trim out the initial outer tiles dimensions. The cut out tile shape is then set aside to stiffen up . At this point I dust the surface of the clay with cornstarch,lay on my plate to be pressed into the face of the clay. The tile gets cleaned up, notched in the back & is ready for its first bisque fire. Next staining of the design happens, glazing & a final firing. Then a sturdy hanger is permanently epoxied into a pre drilled space in the notched back. Voila,ready to hang on a small brad. Small felt or cork bumps could be used on the lower inside corners if you want it to hang neatly. Thanks for your interest in my work. Handmade Ceramic Biomech/ Bioorganic Scifi Art Tile
