Framed Impressionist Still Life Oil Painting c.1960-70s Size : 13 1/2 x 16 3/8 in. Condition: Good/very good for age - minor chips to frame, scratches at top left in the paint. Here is a very nice vintage Impressionist still life oil depicting a Chianti wine bottle , some apples, grapes & a brass charger on a white tablecloth. For you youngsters, back in the 70s, it was very popular to have these bottles as decorative accents with lots of dripping wax down the sides. The dripping wax came from people using the bottles as candlestick holders on their tables or bar areas. Most people put lots of different candles in the same bottle to have as much wax as possible down the sides. An old groovy decorative statement. This art is painted with oil on canvasboard & framed in its original gold wood frame with linen liner. There is no date or signature that I can see but I would place it in the late 1960s to early 70s time period. Be sure to check out my other vintage still life oil paintings in my shop.
