Vintage Irish Made, Silver Plated Covered Serving Dish - Pharman D'Nieli Ltd. of Belfast - Engraved with the Husey-Hunt Family Crest This silver plated serving dish was made in Ireland. It is marked on the bottom with "Pharman D'Nieli Ltd. of Belfast" & their silver mark. Additionally, the lid is engraved with a boot, a claddagh (of sorts) & a ribbon which reads, "Cor immobyle". Research has shown this to be the family crest of James Hubert, formerly of Compton Castle, Somerset, & of Brighton. The phrase means "A heart noble, a mind determined" according to one translation & "A noble heart, a heart immovable" according to another. The covered dish measures 10.25" long by 7.75" wide & 1.75" deep (without the lid). The lid, which is rather unadorned (except for the crest) is domed, & fits the serving platter well. It adds an additional height of about 2". O expect this dish to be from the middle to late 1800s. The silver plating is in very good condition with some minor scratches from age & use.
