The verse: Tov Lehodot - "It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord, & to sing praises unto Thy name, O Most High; to declare loving kindness in the morning, & Thy faithfulness in the night seasons" appears in Psalms chapter 92 [verses 2-3]. The chapter opens with the words: "A Psalm, a song for the Sabbath day" & it was most likely recited by the Levites in the Holy Temple as a psalm of the sacred work performed. The idea that emerges from the verses is that praise & thanks must be given to the Creator at any given moment, both by night & by day, for His kindness is ever present in our reality. The composer continues to relate to God's deeds with great emotion, & criticizes those who do not notice the great good & abundance that exist in this world.
