Its form evokes an image of an owl just lifting off in silent flight having detected dinner on the ground below. Approx. 5.5" high x 3" tail to chest x 2" wide Carved & painted in the woodcarving workshop of Eugenia & Roberto Sosa. Signed. Oaxacan woodcarvings are also called alebrijes (pronounced all-ay-bree-hays) - they are carved in small family workshops on the outskirts of the city of Oaxaca.
