Scarce 1864 Gorham Medallion pattern salt cellar pair with medallion portraits from the era of the American Civil War. Marked clearly for Gorham (lion, anchor, G). Extremely elegant & perhaps with good gilding on the inside. These are personalized for 'D'. in an attractive period script. Condition is very good with a subtle notch in the bottom of the foot of one where a prior owner tested it. Catalogue number of 520.
