Description

Saint Teresa of Avila was a Spanish Carmelite nun of the sixteenth century who began her calling to the religious life in a very lax & self indulgent manner, not unlike most of the other nuns in her order. Fortunately, she underwent a major conversion, & set about reforming the entire Carmelite order. Along the way, she developed a friendship with a much younger man, Saint John of the Cross, who reformed the male branch of the order. Saint Teresa is recognized as a doctor of the church, & is patron saint of those who suffer migraines. I painted her in acrylics on paper, with pen in hand & the "light of the Holy Spirit" shining on her. The painting measured 8 1/2 x 1 1 inches, but is no longer available. This image, & all of the artwork of Sue Kouma Johnson, is copyrighted, & may not be reproduced in any form, without express permission of the artist. IMPORTANT Each of the sizes indicates Outside Dimensions. in the three options, there is a BORDER OF WHITE left around the image, approximately 1 1/4" to 1 1/2" all around. So, the image is SMALLER than the Paper. Signed by artist. Archival Quality: All our prints are made using premium acid-free fine art paper in card thickness, & high-quality Epson pigments (instead of dyes), rated by a third party to last 200+ years when not hung in direct sunlight. These prints are beautiful today & are time capsules of the faith for future generations. The print is available in three sizes, each of which carry the image on a white sheet of paper, with a little more than 1 inch of WHITE SPACE around it. Standard sizes. It's easy to find a ready-made frame at your local frame shop. If you're sending this as a gift & would like us to frame it for you, please order it framed. -Acid-free paper - Archival pigments, rated to last for generations. - Cardboard backer - Above story of the art - Enclosed in a tight-fitting, crystal-clear bag. IMPORTANT There is about an inch-and-a-third of WHITE SPACE around the picture, so the image is smaller than the paper. This helps the image to have a little border of white around it instead of a mat. The colored image DOES NOT go all the way to the edge of the paper. Thanks for your interest!
