Mary McKee (#1425) - First Lady/White House Hostess of the United States from 1892 to 1893, as the daughter of Benjamin Harrison, the 23rd President. When her mother, Caroline Harrison, died in 1892, she assumed the role of First Lady until the end of her father's term. Fact of interest: in 1951 Madame Alexander became the first doll maker to be recognized by the prestigious New York Fashion Academy. & you can totally understand why when you see the detailed First Lady dolls! Series IV dolls were released in 1983. Elegant 14" vinyl dolls with rooted hair. Made from either the Mary Ann or Martha face molds. Each wears a dress depicting their beautiful Inaugural gown. Made in the USA. She comes from an avid Madame Alexander doll collector - Quality, fantastic, collectible condition with her Madame Alexander tag, original gown & jewelry, & original box.
